Who You Are

The role of Healthcare Design & Construction Project Manager requires strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, ability to self-direct and multi-task. The Healthcare Design & Construction Project Manager has a proven background in active hospital project/construction management. 


Responsibilities

  • Document and provide support of the client and project goals.
  • Support client’s project administrative needs as appropriate.
  • Facilitate involvement of the project’s key stakeholders at appropriate levels and times.
  • Implement and maintain project controls, communication reports, and presentation materials.
  • Attend, take meeting minutes, and participate in design, construction, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Assist with development and management of overall project budget, schedules to meet client requirements.
  • Review progress payments, cash flow, change requests, RFI’s, and submittals.
  • Assist with development and management of overall project schedule, risk registers, and project management plan.
  • Coordinate overall design and construction process.
  • Perform project, design, and construction management on behalf of our healthcare clients.
  • Develop Request for Qualifications and Request for Proposals.
  • Participate in proposal interviews.
  • Develop, coordinate and facilitate hand-off of the facility to client’s operations personnel.
  • Develop or advise on development of warranty, closeout, and commissioning strategies.
  • Drive to various job sites/offices.

Requirements

  • BS in Construction Management, Business Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university (extensive relevant industry experience within the building trades, may be considered).
  • Five or more years of project and construction management experience with healthcare facilities.
  • Five or more years of experience understanding full set of design/construction drawings, specifications, and basis of design documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, low voltage, fire, and medical equipment.
  • Knowledge of contract agreements and terms (including but not limited to AIA), and ability to negotiate fair terms.
  • Demonstrated understanding of infection control protocols, hazard materials and life safety measures.
  • Experience in managing complex, acute care hospital projects.
  • Responsible for medical equipment documentation and coordination.
  • Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Bluebeam, Bluebeam Studio, Microsoft Project, P6, or other scheduling software.
  • Clear and concise communication.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BIM oversight coordination.
  • Understanding of phasing and system shutdowns associated with continuous hospital facility operations and building systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of medical equipment documents and coordination.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control planning, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Experience in value engineering exercises, mock-ups, and move/relocation coordination.
  • Experience in managing Design-Build contracts in Washington. Assoc (DBIA) Accredited Professional a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of green and sustainable building practices. LEED Accredited Professional a plus.
  • Experience with public healthcare clients a plus.

At the time of this job posting, the annual base pay for this role in the Seattle area is between $90,000 and $140,000. Base pay is determined through analyzing various factors, including (but not limited to): location, skills, experience, education, knowledge, internal equity, industry indicators, external market factors, and the availability of skilled professionals in the area.
