This individual will cover regulatory policy and advocacy strategy as a member of BNY Mellon’s Public Policy and Government Affairs team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on U.S. and international regulatory developments;
- Partnering with lines of business and corporate functions to identify regulatory priorities, assess impact and opportunities, and develop company positions;
- Driving proactive internal regulatory strategy as well as external engagement and advocacy strategies, including with trade associations and peers;
- Preparing speakers and briefing materials for regulatory interactions; and
- Maintaining BNY Mellon’s role as a trusted voice and industry leader on high-profile policy issues.
This individual will work closely with colleagues in the Legal Department, businesses and corporate functions in developing and executing on BNY Mellon’s regulatory strategy.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience at federal banking or regulatory agency, law firm, trade association or large financial institution;
- Strong working knowledge of the financial services industry and regulatory landscape;
- Experience working directly with regulators;
- Excellent analytical and oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain complex regulations;
- Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and time-sensitive issues;
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across different teams;
- Flexible and adaptable to changing issues and regulatory priorities; and
- Proactive self-starter that demonstrates initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness to work independently.
