Job Description

We are looking for a talented [Part-Time Role] Electronics & Controls Knowledge Management Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Corporate business segment in Columbus, IN.

 

The responsibilities of this role are currently defined for a part-time working arrangement at 20 hours per week.  The number of work hours and specific responsibilities are based on business need and subject to approval.

 

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

* Develop and maintain the information technologies, functional excellence or product information change management.

* Applies technical information and knowledge based activities, fulfills work requests to standardized policies and procedures and documents results.

* Applies and supports information processes such as ESW, VPI, product change management and data repositories.

* Obtains input and negotiates with cross functional teams on needs.

* Owns problem resolution for moderately complex components.

* Provides independent execution of established work processes and systems.

* Involves minimal direct management of people, however, could involve the coordination and direction of work amongst technicians and/or temporary student employees.

* Contributes effectively toward team goals, exhibits influence within a work group and continues to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role.

 

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

* Experience in Electronics & Controls and Electronic Systems

* Ability to define the failure mode and failure cause structure for component level ESW topics.

* Experience facilitating and elicit ESW owner input to implement key initiatives such as Restructuring, Functional Triggering, and Functional Requirements development with guidance from the Function Architect.

* Apply and refine the pilot restructuring process for Controls ESW topics.

* Ability to train and guide ESW owners and Tech Area Leaders on ESW guiding principles.

* Evaluate prevention capability and long hour system validation tasks

* Provide the Tech Area Leaders with methods and tools to prioritize content development plans.

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
