Primary Purpose:
Leads traditional and digital marketing communications strategies to increase customer satisfaction and awareness. Develops strategies, defines and/or creates market segmentation/targeting, analyzes trends, and ensures cost-saving decisions for production and for promoting products and services. Leads a team of professionals to develop compelling content for a multi-channel strategy including, but not limited to: direct mail, video, website, email and social media marketing, and advertising.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop marketing communication strategies for product lines to help SDG&E move closer to its short- and long-term strategic goals. Conduct thorough evaluations of market dynamics, demographics and competitive environment or niche, overall plan of action, metrics and deadlines. Ensure marketing communication strategies include consideration of internal as well as external risk factors and opportunities.
  • Lead and manage a team to develop and deliver dynamic content across multiple platforms, including digital (email marketing, social media marketing, content marketing, search engine marketing, banner advertising and website content), print and direct mail solutions. Manage the creation of email lists and focus on expanding messaging through testing of subject lines, list segmentation and general creativeness of design and content of email. Develop social media campaigns that target audiences considering platform, timing, tailored posts and profiles to achieve maximum effectiveness. Drive awareness of brand, services and products, and create retention as applicable.
  • Develop and execute marketing and communication plans to enhance the company’s offerings and energy solutions for customers, while ensuring the integrity of the company’s image and branding. Develop the company’s promotion activities around offerings, as well as sponsorships, seminars, educational events and other activities. Manage and measure the success of campaigns and programs, ensuring consistency with SDG&E’s image.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training and/or experience.
  • 6 years – in marketing communications strategic planning and content creation.
  • Requires extensive experience in at least a few additional areas: graphic design, video production, digital marketing, photography, data analysis, marketing analytics, creating niche market segments and segmentation.
  • Experience working directly for an agency OR overseeing creative work from copywriters, designers, photographers, videographers, etc. required.
  • Experience working on social media platforms and creating personalized content.
  • Direct experience or shown ability/desire to schedule and manage email marketing through various platforms.
  • Superior management and leadership skills (i.e., creating and working in a team environment, analytical skills, interpersonal and communication skills).
  • Requires expert-level written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated proficiency in copywriting and developing content across channels (such as email, website pages, social media, e-newsletters, print materials).
  • Strong time-management, organization and prioritization skills required.
  • Ability to work with marketing intelligence, insights and research team develop objectives for testing positioning, creative concepts, etc.
  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
  • We offer a hybrid work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office two to three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A solid understanding of both digital and print design principles. Knowledge of HTML, Indesign or other design software a plus.
  • An emphasis in marketing or communications preferred

Work Schedule
HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 2-3 days per week.
Salary Range
$107,700.00 – $161,600.00
Total Rewards Philosophy

Market competitive compensation package to be equitable to current marketing manager(s) and include salary and other company benefits (15% participation in the incentive compensation package, 401K company contributions, participation in the Cash Balance Plan, health benefits and hybrid work schedule).
