Manager, Corporate Engagement
The Manager, Corporate Engagement is responsible for overseeing activities to support CGLCC’s corporate members, with a particular focus on increasing engagement in CGLCC’s LGBTQ Supplier Diversity program. The role is proactive and ensures consistent and regular member outreach, communications, and delivery of support, ultimately driving revenue growth for CGLCC. The role’s purpose is to:
- Create strong relationships with CGLCC corporate members;
- Enhance corporate member participation in CGLCC’s various programs;
- Identify, create, and deliver value for corporate members; and
- Enhance corporate member retention.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Engaging & Supporting Members
The Manager, Corporate Engagement executes a range of activities to support and engage corporate members, achieving or exceeding set targets and growing the CGLCC brand presence. Specific duties include, but not limited to:
- Formulate and execute a business engagement strategy to drive greater participation from, and retainment of, corporate members;
- Plan, develop and implement programming to support the continued development of CGLCC corporate members;
- Work with the Business Development team to ensure fulfillment of programming sold;
- Attend and actively engage in meetings, events and conferences to further engage corporate members;
- Provide regular reporting on all activities and achievement of annual targets;
- Utilize CGLCC CRM tools to track and report all corporate engagement activities;
- Identify opportunities for strategic collaboration and partnerships that can lead to organization growth and innovation; and
- Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape and market to provide insights that inform CGLCC strategies and help us stay ahead of the curve.
Managing Relationships
The Manager, Corporate Engagement builds and manages working relationships with CGLCC’s internal and external partners, helping these partners accomplish their program objectives and contribute to CGLCC’s strategic goals.
- Build and maintain open and effective communication with corporate members, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction and retention;
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal partners in the execution of corporate programming and activities;
- Engage in onboarding and regular maintenance calls with corporate members;
- Oversee the retention and renewal of all CGLCC corporate members;
- Ensure that corporate members have a positive experience with CGLCC’s services and address any issues or concerns that may arise; and
- Collaborate with business development team members to identify new opportunities and provide support in outreach to potential corporate members.
Problem Solving & Ownership
The Manager, Corporate Engagement analyses and solves problems and addresses day-to-day issues to ensure smooth and efficient operations and help establish a supportive and empowering work environment and contribute to the accomplishment of CGLCC program objectives.
- Identify continuous improvement of engagement processes, to attain high effectiveness and efficiency;
- Problem-solve complex retention scenarios, consulting with other CGLCC team, if needed;
- Resolve issues following CGLCC’s standards, practices and procedures;
- Manage internal, external and sometimes geographically dispersed resources;
- Identify alternative solutions and select the best solution to the day-to-day issues and problems, ensuring positive impact on the process and/or relationships with internal and external partners; and
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of corporate engagement initiatives.
CGLCC & Personal Advocacy
The Manager, Corporate Engagement demonstrates personal leadership to fulfill the expectations of the role by taking ownership to personal development and assist in the development of others, guided by a strong commitment to the CGLCC mission and strategic direction.
- Become fully familiar with CGLCC and CGLCC programming, in particular Supplier Diversity;
- Ensure delivery of member engagement processes and initiatives, in alignment with the strategic direction of the CGLCC;
- Seek performance input from the Director, Membership Services and other CGLCC team members to identify own performance gaps and inform personal development plan; and
- Provide leadership, feedback and guidance to the Membership Services Coordinators, ensuring they continue to be advocates of the CGLCC in the performance of their job.
DESIRED COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field, or equivalent experience
Skills & Experience:
- 3-5 years in a customer engagement position with proven experience;
- Experience in developing sound servicing and retention plans and strategies;
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate and to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders; highly developed presentation skills – verbal and written;
- Strong integrity, credibility and dedication to organization’s mission and strategic direction;
- Previous experience working in a not-for-profit environment is preferred;
- Experience working with the 2SLGBTQI+ community is considered an asset;
- Proficient technology skills using program management software, Microsoft Office Suite and CGLCC administration tools (HubSpot, Microsoft 365);
- Highly motivated, self-directed individual.

- FLUENCY in English and French is strongly preferred

Terms
This is a home-based, full-time position. The position requires regular attendance at events, and applicants should be based in Toronto, ON. This position reports to the Director, Membership Services.
Compensation
Salary will be based on skills and experience, within the annual salary range of $65,000-$80,000. Additional benefits round out the compensation package, including group benefit plan coverage, annual vacation, and a generous public holiday schedule including paid time off between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
