We’re seeking a future team member for the role of PSIL Legal Entity Risk Officer to join our Pershing Securities International Limited team. This role is located in Dublin, Ireland.

The role is responsible for the maintenance and oversight of an effective Risk Management Framework within Pershing’s EU regulated entity, Pershing Securities International Limited (PSIL). The successful candidate will need be effective in ensuring that PSIL operates within its stated Risk Appetite and provides support to the 1st Line of Defence in managing risk arising from their activities and processes, as well as embedding a risk aware culture across the organisation. The role will involve managing all aspects of risk inherent in the legal entity such as operational risk, credit risk, third party, outsourcing, technology, and strategic risk. The role will also act as the primary point of contact on local regulatory matters relating to risk.

The role reports directly to the Pershing EMEA regional Chief Risk Officer, and indirectly to the PSIL Country Head. The role also sits on the Pershing EMEA risk leadership team. While the role has primary responsibility for the independent oversight of risk within Pershing Securities International (PSIL) the PSIL Legal Entity Risk Officer will also contribute to team goals and priorities in the EMEA region. The role also acts in an advisory capacity to the Pershing EMEA Head of Operational Risk and the Pershing EMEA Head of Credit & Market Risk with respect to activities in the PSIL legal entity.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor‘s degree or equivalent
  • People with 10-15 years’ experience preferred in risk related roles, ideally with experience in the local Irish, UK or European financial services industry.
  • Experience managing Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk, Credit Risk, Third-Party Risk or Technology Risk, either in a 1st Line of Defence capacity or within a 2nd line function is essential.
  • Direct experience liaising with European regulators is desirable
  • Candidates should be self-starters, willing to take initiative, influence, build strong relationships and promote a strong risk culture.

There are currently no direct reports for this role however the position will need to draw upon resource across Pershing and the regional risk teams based at Bank of New York Mellon. This will require strong relationship management skills and ability to influence stakeholders. The role requires experience of all major product areas, regulatory requirements and should be able to operate on a multi-entity and jurisdictional basis in helping the business meet the requirements and expectations imposed by a number of different regulators.
