Full-Time ITS Project Manager/Business Analyst

Job Description

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, 12-month, exempt ITS Project Manager/Business Analyst position in the Information Technology (IT) department. This position is responsible for overall IT project management and plays the lead role in initiating projects, planning/analyzing scope, budget, and resources, managing all aspects of communications, and monitoring the progress, issues, and risks to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and within scope. This position is also responsible for helping various business areas to assess and analyze their processes, determine requirements, and work with project team members or third-party vendors to improve current processes. This position is expected to be hybrid (on-campus three days per week with an option for hybrid/remote work a maximum of two days per week).

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct interviews to gather business requirements via questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other formal project management methods. Analyze and validate the business needs of stakeholders.
  • Translate conceptual business requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to IT specialist/project teams.
  • Work with multi-functional teams to define the overall scope of projects and roles on project teams.
  • Plan, implement, and track project resources, staffing, and budget needs.
  • Write user stories and work with product owners and project team to ensure the project backlog is being properly refined and prioritized.
  • Develop robust project risk management plans to ensure timely implementation, testing, and delivery of projects.
  • Identify project risks and potential scope creep and escalate issues and roadblocks to the project team members or the management in a timely manner.
  • Lead project status meetings and manage internal and external communication plans to make sure management, project team members, and stakeholders are updated on project status.
  • Act as lead liaison between IT technical resources and business area personnel throughout each phase of the project to help clarify information or resolve issues.
  • Work with project team members and stakeholders to analyze, communicate, prioritize, clarify, validate and document requirements for changes to business processes and information systems.
  • Produce reports on project status, KPIs, and budget.
  • Develop and manage relationships with third-party vendors, contractors, and other partners.
  • Act as a facilitator for UAT (User Acceptance Testing) with the client, third-party vendors or other testers that use the product.
  • Deliver smooth transition to operational support teams, including training.
  • Manage multiple concurrent IT projects of various sizes.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Three (3) years of business analyst and/or project management experience.
  • Experience managing technical projects with various technologies and third-party integrations.
  • Experience with MS Office, project management tools, and industry good practices.
  • Solid understanding and experience with project management methodology and tools used to deliver assigned projects.
  • Strong analytical, planning, organizing, coordinating, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills including written, presenting, and active listening.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks. Detail oriented and possesses exceptional organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with various teams and contribute to the success of the teams. Comfortable acting as an intermediary between technical experts and business partners/end users.
  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

SALARY RANGE: $78,551 – $90,953 annually (commensurate with qualifications and experience).

Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
