Full-Time Human Resources Associate

Job Description

The Position:

The Jewish Museum is looking for a bright, energetic go-getter to join its Human Resources team. The person filling this role will gain experience in a broad range of HR functions, with a focus on compensation, benefits and talent recruitment. This position is fast-paced, and requires an ability to multitask, an attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent communication skills. In addition, we are looking for someone flexible, who can adjust to changing priorities with humor and positivity. The Human Resources Associate will have access to confidential information so good judgment and trustworthiness are critical as well.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Process payrolls using ADP’s Workforce Now
  • Assist with talent recruitment, including strategic outreach, vetting candidates and conducting on-boarding orientations
  • Assist with employee benefits administration, including enrollments, terminations, monthly invoice reconciliations, coordinating open enrollment periods, and assisting the staff with benefits questions
  • Coordinate the Museum’s summer internship program and fulfill academic year internship openings
  • Assist the Associate HR Director in managing the departmental budget by monitoring spending, reconciling monthly credit card statements and all incoming invoices
  • Organize staff events such as all-staff meetings, monthly lunch & learn seminars, training sessions and the annual staff holiday party
  • Assist staff with questions or issues regarding payroll, benefits, and personnel policies
  • Organize regular wellness programing for the Museum staff
  • Maintain the Museum’s computerized and hard-copy personnel and payroll files
  • Perform clerical functions such as: overseeing the purchase of office supplies, updating HR driven materials (such as phone directories and emergency contact lists), processing the outgoing mail, and providing administrative support to Associate Director of Human Resources and Chief Counsel and Talent Officer

Requirements:

  • 2+ years Human Resources experience preferably in an art or cultural institution
  • Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now or similar ADP payroll and attendance tracking products helpful
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented with excellent follow-through skills
  • Self-motivated worker with ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Flexible in the face of unexpected difficulties, able to find creative solutions to problems
  • Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products. Experience with Google platform preferred
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • BA or BS preferred
