The Global Payroll Director will report directly into our VP, Shared Services and will be responsible for the strategic leadership and transformation of TransUnion’s payroll operations, payroll tax submissions & compliance, payroll budgeting, vendors and pay data for our global population.

You will lead our global payroll activities, ensuring timely and accurate global payroll submission, reporting, and compliance. You will be instrumental in the development of an efficient and scalable payroll processing organization. To be successful in this role, you must be a hands-on leader, deadline driven, and detailed oriented. You must be a strong collaborator who can develop and maintain strong relationships with HR teams, Accounting, Internal Audit and ensure timely communication and alignment on initiatives. You must have demonstrated experience both building and leading a global payroll team in a fast-paced and collaborative work environment.

Impact You’ll Make:

  • Review and supervise the work of the payroll team processing the local payroll-related transactions, to ensure timely and accurate payroll submissions. This includes driving the efforts to ensure proper processes are in place for capturing all payroll inputs and ensuring timely and accurate submission to the payroll service providers.
  • Develop metrics and reporting to keep key stakeholders informed on critical issues and measures department performance, compliance and impact to organization
  • Partner with the HR Operations team to ensure completeness and accuracy of employee data for new hires, terminations, and compensation & benefit changes.
  • Partner with Finance, Tax, and Legal, to adhere to laws and regulations impacting payroll, across our global landscape.
  • Partner with Treasury and regional payroll providers to ensure best practices and global consistency and automation for payroll processing of international employees, generate appropriate wire transfer documents and monitor that bank transactions are generated in timely manner.
  • Optimize the payroll processing to drive reliability of the payroll processing activities.
  • Foster and maintain exceptional relationships with all relevant business stakeholders across the organization.
  • Work closely with the external payroll service providers and Finance teams on the month end close activities, including GL reconciliations and JE processing.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to guide employees’ activities and internal controls.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing with government entities and support the payroll related audit efforts (financial and 401k audits).
  • Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions in a timely manner
  • In performing the above, exercise the highest degree of confidentiality relative to all payroll information and employee privacy initiatives.
