Full-Time Future Funding: Enabling Local Investment – Funding Officer
Job Description
It’s an exciting time to join the Environment Agency’s national Future Funding Department. Our vision is to secure the wide range of funding and investment needed to protect and improve the environment now and in the future.
The Funding Officer role is part of the dynamic Enabling Local Investment (ELI) team within Future Funding where innovation, green finance and blended funding are the core objectives. The ELI Team provides technical support, information and advice, and builds staff capability across EA departments to secure funding and investment to deliver our corporate strategy (EA2025) goals. The role will:
– lead the administration and management of up to date information on public, private and third sector investment and funding programme opportunities, working with others so that information is clear, comprehensive and easily accessible for our customers;
– manage our annual multi-user subscription to a commercial funding database, reviewing weekly alerts to support investment opportunities, and develop and maintain an effective network with our subscription user base;
– support the wider team to achieve effective programme management by developing and maintaining clear record management systems for information and data established from local and national funding commissions;
– contribute to wider team delivery, supporting customer engagement, funding commissions, capacity building and communications.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
