About the Role:

As a Computational Linguist in our global pool, you are a linguistic architect helping us bridge the gap between human communication and machine logic. We look to you to analyze the deep structures of your native language, including syntax, semantics, and morphology, ensuring our AI models capture the true essence of human expression. At TELUS, your work directly influences how the world’s leading LLMs respect cultural identity through language.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Perform deep-dive linguistic audits on AI outputs to ensure grammatical precision and semantic accuracy.

Design and refine complex linguistic guidelines to help models master regional dialects, slang, and cultural idioms.

Collaborate on Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) projects by creating high-quality datasets that reflect the structural complexities of your native tongue.

Analyze how AI handles specialized writing systems (e.g., RTL) and provide architectural feedback to engineering teams to improve model rendering and comprehension.

 

Qualification path

Mandatory Qualifications:

 

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Language: Native-level fluency in at least one language.

English Proficiency: Minimum B1 (Intermediate) level English for technical guidelines.

 

Assessment:

 

In order to be hired into our community, you’ll go through a subject-specific qualification exam that will determine your suitability for the position and complete ID verification.

 

Payment:

 

Currently, pay rates for experts range from $18 – $50 USD per hour

 

Our Payment terms are defined for each project.
