Job Description

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Forecast & Demand Specialist within our Customer Service team to help support our Adjustable Bedding business.  Did you know we have been revolutionizing the sleep industry since 1883?  That’s right!  In fact, we hold the original patent on a spiral steel coil bed spring, filed way back in 1885.  Since then, we have been an industry leader in guaranteeing you get the best sleep possible.  If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.

As a Forecast & Demand Specialist you will have the opportunity to ensure operational excellence through managing customer demand vs. forecast. The team you will be working with is supportive, and values open communication.

So, what will you be doing as a Forecast & Demand Specialist?

  • Monitor open customer orders and related reporting to ensure materials and finished goods are able to meet customer demand.
  • Monitor inventory, product shortages, and component issues.
  • Communicate with Customer Service Representatives and Sourcing on issues related to customer forecasts or product/part shortages.
  • Work with Production Schedulers across all branches to ensure product is produced in time to meet customer demand.
  • Own and update the Demand Management Tool daily.
  • Complete necessary departmental reporting as required by L&P policies.

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Excel skills (expert level)
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Excellent two-way written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand and help others through complex problems involving systems and processes
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Data entry ability with adaptability to use multiple databases
  • Ability to maintain high degree of ownership and accountability
  • Independent judgement and discretion in matters of significance
  • High level of detail orientation

Things we consider a plus:

  • 2 year degree
  • 2-5 years experience in Customer Service, Account Management, or Forecasting
