The Finance Director is responsible for the organization’s banking practices and the maintenance of its financial records pertaining to cash, investment portfolios, endowment account, grants, restricted funds, and bank transactions including receipts, fund transfers, and disbursements. The position works closely with Financial Development Department to record donations, endowments, and pledges accurately and timely per GAAP. Provides financial analysis and support for external audits and grant applications.
They will provide technical support for major project management and work with the Controller to develop policies and procedures, train staff on accounting procedures all across the organization, and develop internal control. The success of this position depends on avid curiosity, high energy, and willingness to assume additional responsibilities to support and collaborate with key stakeholders of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent. Advanced degree preferred.
- CPA or CMA with strong working knowledge of A/R, A/P, and banking products
- Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in GAAP accounting with strong general ledger, banking, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and practical accounting software/SaaS knowledge
- Nonprofit fund accounting experience a plus
- Demonstrated expertise with computerized accounting systems and strong aptitude toward working with multiple internal systems and SaaS platforms
- Must have advanced EXCEL skill and superior analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent active listening and organizational skills
- Able and willing to complete Child Abuse Prevention training on first day and other online or in-person training as required.
Starting rate: $111,726+ annually – DOE
Hours: Full-Time, Exempt – 40 hours per week
