CHELCO seeks a Facilities Helper
Do you like working outside and caring for established lawns? Can you replace sprinklers and repair sprinkler systems? Are you good at maintaining equipment and keeping track of tools? Do you like helping others? CHELCO is looking for a Facilities Helper to join their team!
This Position
As a Facilities Helper, you would:
- Maintain CHELCO grounds, landscaping, and the physical appearance of all CHELCO property. Care for established lawns by mowing, mulching, aerating, weeding, trimming or edging around flower beds, shrubs and hedges, walks, or walls.
- Clean and lubricate machinery, equipment, tools and maintaining work areas.
- Assist the Facilities team with housekeeping, routine maintenance, repairs, and projects.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent and at least one year of related experience.
- Must have an effective working knowledge of irrigation systems and repairs and lawn equipment.
- Must have basic knowledge of safe chemical handling and storage.
- Must be able to speak and understand the English language
- Must have great customer service skills.
- Must be able to access military installations and Eglin AFB.
The normal workweek is Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, and mainly reports to the CHELCO Headquarters building in DeFuniak Springs but may be required to report to any CHELCO service locations. The position may have occasional overtime as needed. Position works primarily outside in populated and rural areas with exposure to elements. With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance at a designated worksite location is considered essential.
