Full-Time Environmental Engineering Supervisor III
Job Description
- Supervise and manage our Monitoring and Stewardship group that plans, designs, constructs, monitors, and leads the stewardship of NCDOT on-site stream, wetland, and buffer mitigation sites statewide.
- Manage and supervise a group of engineers responsible for delivery of on-site mitigation design plans.
- Manage and supervise the NCDOT’s On-site Mitigation Monitoring and Mitigation Stewardship programs.
- Manage Private Engineering Firms contracts involving scope of work, estimates, project management tasks, scheduling, budgets, invoicing, and evaluations.
- Coordinate and communicate with State and Federal Environmental Agencies regarding permit compliance related to our On-site Mitigation Program.
- Assist Environmental Analysis staff with group budgets, special projects, and other assignments.
- Experience with the principals and practices of environmental engineering relating to natural stream, wetland, and buffer design and monitoring.
- Knowledge of Federal and State laws pertaining to environmental matters (specifically Compensatory Mitigation), as well as Federal Highway Administration regulations relating to other aspects of highway planning, design, and construction.
- Experience managing performance monitoring of Compensatory Mitigation Sites to meet State and Federal Permitting Requirements.
- Experience managing Stewardship of Compensatory Mitigation properties.
- Experience supervising 3+ permanent employees, contractors, and/or consultants.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, and
- 5+ years of relevant experience, and
- 3+ years of supervisory experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- We may require you to be registered as a professional engineer by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
