Product Environmental Management
Product Environmental Management’s (PEM) mission is to “influence, communicate, and comply with the emissions and noise regulations that impact Cummins’ products, thereby enabling us to deliver measurable comparative advantage to our customers.” The available position may be focused in either of PEM’s two primary areas: Regulatory Affairs, which is primarily responsible for influencing, summarizing and communicating the regulatory requirements; or Certification and Compliance, which is responsible for all aspects of the actual engine certification process as well as on-going compliance activities.
SKILLS
Engineer applies basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assigned tasks by interpreting, communicating and ensuring all environmental regulations and standards are adhered to as they impact company products. Supports end-users in their efforts to understand product environmental requirements. Determines product and component environmental worthiness and adherence through coordinated testing and evaluation. Collaborates with product, reliability and other related engineering groups to ensure requirements are met. Communication, team-work, and organizational skills are critical.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Environmental Management
* Cumulative GPA of 3.0 strongly recommended
* Prior relevant work or internship experience (preferred)
