Part-Time Engagement Representative
Job Description
The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking an Engagement Representative to join our team.
The YMCA focuses on empowering people in all forms, by improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our neighborhoods.
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
As an Engagement Representative, you will engage members and guests – in branch and over the phone – to respond to their questions and needs while promoting information on membership and programs. This is a hybrid position with the expectation of some work from home and some work at the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
- Present accurate membership information to potential and existing members. Explain the benefits of YMCA membership and its programs.
- Demonstrate full competency with the Customer Relationship Management system to include proper enrollment, update, and cancellation processing and receiving membership, program, childcare, camp, and child watch payments.
- Follow membership policies and guidelines. Process new memberships, update current memberships, and register members for programs and services, as needed.
- Understand financial assistance process and accurately help to identify eligibility.
- Provide a highly satisfying member experience and engage members in programs.
Are you a good fit?
- You are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- You have at least two years of experience in customer service, public relations, and organization.
- You have excellent written and oral skills.
- You are proficient in computer programs, including practical application of MS Office suite, including Teams, and Zoom.
- You have a positive attitude and previous experience with diverse populations.
- Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).

- Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
Wage: $17.00 to $19.00 per hour, depending on qualifications
Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week
Shift: Monday-Friday
Location: YMCA Association Office, Tacoma, WA
