Our network approach brings together community leaders, organizers, advocates, and policy experts to build people-led, cutting-edge policy.

Position Description

The CPC Center Educational Legislative Fellowship Program provides educational opportunities for people with an interest in public policy and the legislative process. Fellowship placements are in congressional offices in the U.S. House of Representatives.

This Educational Legislative Fellowship is an educational program that will provide exposure to legislative processes and procedures, practical experience with how the House of Representatives works, and opportunities for interaction with constituents and issue stakeholders. To enrich the educational experience, the fellow will join a cohort of other CPC Center Fellows in a program welcome event, as well as networking events and professional development opportunities.

This is a paid, in-person fellowship in Washington, D.C.. The initial term of the fellowship is six months. After the CPC Center completes a mid-term evaluation, the fellow may be invited to extend for an additional six months.

Selection Process and Timeline

The CPC Center is currently accepting applications until Friday, March 3rd, 2023 at 11:59 PM ET. The selection process involves up to two rounds of interviews (phone and Zoom) and a meet and greet. Candidates who advance to the first round of interviews will be contacted by mid-March. The fellow will start in May 2023.

  • Some previous work experience in public policy, social justice, or a related field.

  • Interest in learning about Congress and federal policymaking.

  • Responsiveness to feedback.

$27,500 over a six-month term ($55,000 annualized).

Fellows will receive excellent benefits including generous vacation, paid holidays, 401(k) match, and paid health insurance.
