DreamLab Specialist: Support the day-to-day operations of Girl Scouts of Colorado (GSCO)’s DreamLab in Denver. Responsibilities include retail and hospitality tasks, program delivery, facility management support and membership recruitment support. This position takes the lead with reservation management and on-site facilities management duties in coordination with the property management team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service
- Provide a warm, welcoming, and inclusive experience to all Girl Scout and community members who visit the DreamLab.
- Greet all visitors, answer questions, provide appropriate resources, and assist guests who have reserved space and time at the DreamLab.
- Be prepared to assist with tours, special events, and program activities preparation and clean-up as needed.
- Act as the primary reservations contact including reservations including tracking, adding to shared calendar, communication with reservation holders, troubleshooting reservation issues and coordinating with the property reservation system.
Program
- Implement programmatic experiences for Girl Scout and community audiences including drop-in programs, staff led badge workshops, community open-houses, and birthday parties.
- Be aware of and promote a calendar of upcoming programmatic opportunities for DreamLab visitors.
- Assist in the administration of pre- and post-program surveys.
- Support delivery of partner programming in DreamLab.
- Communicate with GSCO’s program and membership teams and other stakeholders to determine local programmatic needs specific to GSCO’s membership.
Membership Support
- Provide potential new members with a consistent message about Girl Scouting and the possible ways girls can participate in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE).
- Maintain current knowledge of the Girl Scout program, pathways, activities, and membership registration processes.
- Deliver on membership recruitment marketing strategies and initiatives established by the membership team with a goal of increasing interest in the Girl Scout program and membership registration.
- Facilitate staff led “starter troops”, parent/family information sessions, and other recruitment focused events in the DreamLab.
- Ensure Girl Scouting is open and available to all girls and adults by consistent delivery of the Girl Scout message of pluralism and diversity throughout the community.
Facility Management and Retail Support
- Prepare facilities for guests. Assist authorized groups and their leaders in the use and care of the facility and communicate with groups prior to arrival.
- Support day-to-day operations of the DreamLab, to include but not limited to: opening, closing, mail retrieval, ensuring equipment and technology is working or appropriate help is sought, support vendors who maintain and repair facility and equipment, conduct regular rounds of the space to ensure safety and cleanliness, and assure security of the DreamLab.
- Work with the property management team and the DreamLab manager to monitor facility maintenance needs and coordinate larger projects, including scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
- Communicate with janitorial and cleaning services and ensure satisfactory service is provided.
- Maintain supply inventory and coordinate orders of office and program supplies in the DreamLab.
- Maintain positive working relationship with property management and landlord, as well as tenants in the nearby vicinity.
- Maintain DreamLab organization, appearance, and cleanliness. Maintain a safe work environment and report potential hazards.
- Assist with retail functions, to include but not limited to: execution of sales; ensuring proper cash handling procedures; implementing loss prevention practices and reporting potential incidents.
- Work with the DreamLab Manager and other DreamLab staff to meet retail metrics.
PRIMARY CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with Marketing and Communications department to support the promotion of the DreamLab, programs, and reservation opportunities.
- Embrace diversity and inclusiveness by contributing to positive relationships between diverse racial, ethnic, and social groups in the Council as a whole and between employees, volunteers, girls, and visitors to the DreamLab.
- Ensure compliance with GSCO policies and operational guidelines.
- Support the efforts and commitments of Girl Scouts of Colorado in pluralism and diversity throughout the organization and within each community served.
- In accordance with the philosophy of Girl Scouts of Colorado, the person filling this position may occasionally be required to carry out or assist with other tasks in addition to the duties listed on this job description.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Formal Training
- No formal education or training requirements.
Experience
- One year or more retail customer experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience in working with diverse populations of staff and volunteers, demonstrated personal and professional commitment to pluralism.
- Experience working with youth preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including opening and/or closing, nights, weekends.
- Knowledge of visual merchandising standards and techniques, and ability to implement corporate guidelines.
- Knowledge of electronic Point of Sales (POS) and inventory management.
- Ability to effectively and professionally present information and respond to questions from internal GSCO staff and external GSCO audience including staff, volunteers, Girl Scouts, parents and the community.
- Basic janitorial and housekeeping skills.
- Strong motivational, organizational, detail orientated and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of (or ability/willingness to learn) Counter Point POS, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook email.
- Experience in working with diverse populations of staff and volunteers, demonstrated personal and professional commitment to pluralism.
Additional Requirements
- Must pass all required background checks.
- Must be fluent in speaking, reading, & writing English.
- Desired to be fluent in speaking, reading, & writing Spanish.
MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED
- Computer and related software, telephone, e-mail, fax machines, copiers and equipment commonly found in an office environment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
- The job is carried out primarily in the DreamLab (Denver); however, travel to other Girl Scouts locations throughout Colorado may be required.
- Flexible scheduling is required, including the ability to work opening, closing and weekends with variable days off based on scheduling needs. DreamLab hours Tues-Sat 10am-7:30pm, Sun 12pm-6pm, closed Monday.
- Frequently: Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves engaging with the public for most of the time, with the occasional periods of working at a desk and in front of a screen.
- Occasionally: May be required to transport Girl Scout materials weighing up to 30 pounds with or without assistance.
- This position requires extended periods of viewing electronic screens.
Salary: This position pays an hourly rate of $20.67-$22.00 per hour
