What’s so interesting about this role?

Grindr is continuing our rapid growth and scaling as a newly-public company! We are looking for a Director of Total Rewards, Systems & Analytics that will help us identify systems and programs that are industry-leading and inclusion-focused for our employees. In this role, you will report directly to the VP of People & Places and you will play a key role in optimizing and scaling our company-wide compensation and benefits practices. You will help us identify systems that are effective at tracking employee engagement, manager effectiveness, compensation spending, TA efficiency and effectiveness, and more. 

What’s the job?  

  • You will be developing a compensation strategy for a newly-public company, including
    reviewing our compensation structure & practices to date and establishing new programs to maintain our market competitiveness. 
  • You will play a key role in identifying and managing the HR systems that work for now and will enable us to scale. 
  • You will work with the VP, of People & Places on executive compensation, helping to prepare information for Grindr’s Compensation Committee 
  • You will help us continue our path to benefits parity for our LGBTQ employees and families by creating industry-redefining programs. 
  • You will lead our semi-annual compensation cycle (or help us come up with something better) in a way that ensures we are maintaining our market competitiveness in a way that does not have an adverse impact on any non-majority groups.
  • Develop a People Analytics discipline and approach that allows us to see trends and speak about org & people issues with confidence.
  • Oversee our “Total Rewards” team, providing leadership and development to your team. 

What we’ll love about you 

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, OD, Business Administration, or a similar field. Alternatively, have certifications such as CCP  
  • 10-15 years of HR experience across multiple areas including compensation, benefits, and HR analytics/systems 
  • Prior experience leading a Total Rewards/Compensation function and deep expertise in executive compensation, equity plan design, bonus plans, etc. 
  • In-depth knowledge of HR programs and systems. You have experience in determining what works or doesn’t work and speaking to the “why” behind it.  
  • Experience at small and mid-sized companies
  • Experience in gathering, analyzing, and leveraging internal data and external/competitive insights to identify opportunities for competitive differentiation 
  • You have a passion for increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in tech and have prior experience partnering with business functions to roll out DEI goals or initiatives related to compensation and total rewards that have a measurable impact
  • You are adept at building strong partnerships with leaders at all levels of the business  

We’ll really swoon if you have 

  • Experience with helping companies transition from private to public in relation to Total Rewards 
  • You have helped build an Executive Compensation program at a public company
