Full-Time Director, Commercial Operations
Job Description
Continuously improve departmental effectiveness by identifying and implementing effective and efficient best practices across Business Units:
• Develop and promote relevant strategies and tactics for operational excellence through internal assessment and selective external benchmarking to drive short-term and long-term business needs
• Partner with Marketing and Sales leadership and cross-functional colleagues to identify and recommend critical business process improvements to optimize resources, grow revenue and enhance operational effectiveness
• Enable business readiness across commercial functions to improve brand and business planning efforts for inline and new products
• Eliminate/reduce low value/redundant work that draws resources from more important efforts
• Break down barriers to accelerate the delivery and dissemination of information, process and platforms
• Manage operating expenses and cost center budgets across commercial operations departments
• Lead the IC plan philosophy and design for Sales Force Incentive Compensation, provide input and decision making for sales rewards and recognition programs
• Responsible for driving the — Customer Engagement team to integrate and automate sales force tools (SFA/CRM) that improve productivity and streamline business tasks, processes, and customer information
• With commercial leadership lead the setting of strategy and direction for Commercial l Model transformation by ensuring the optimization and execution of field operations including sales force execution (targeting, resource optimization, call planning, incentive compensation, field tools), automation, sample and fleet management, and meeting planning.
Lead Marketing and Creative Services in providing solutions to optimize commercial business processes and improve: Marketing efficiency and effectiveness:
• Provide support for marketing planning and operational services including brand advertising and promotional spend, LMR review, contract review and approval, inventory fulfilment and vendor management
• Facilitate innovation in marketing standards, processes, and tools that can harmonized across all business units
• Manage and coordinate in house studio and creative support, project prioritization, timelines and budgets
• Enable creative services to improve corporate and brand promotion by translating vision into innovative, high quality, low cost creative assets
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required; life sciences preferred
- MBA or other advanced master’s degree preferred
- Experience with biotech/pharma launches
- Strong functional subject matter expertise
- 10+ years of biopharma commercial industry experience
- 5+ years of direct management experience within the pharmaceutical industry
