Full-Time Deputy City Clerk

Salary: Compensation starts at $25.29 per hour.
The City of Oshkosh is searching for a Deputy City Clerk. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position with a full benefits package. This position works 37.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
This position assists the City Clerk in the issuance of licenses, special assessments, elections, official city records and general office operations. Other duties may include:
- Prepare and maintain the following license types: Temporary Bartenders, Cafe Establishments, Secondhand Dealer, Miscellaneous, Transient Merchants, Beer Gardens and Special Class “B” Licenses.
- Work with Police Department on license issues.
- Complete inspections for fire, health, police and finance.
- Verify receipts from Collections, separate forms, record the various fees/receipts and categorize the different types of receipts.
- Assemble the Council Agenda and prepare revisions, publications and any follow up after the Council Meeting.
- Assist with elections;
- Perform general office tasks to include assisting customers at the counter and on the phone;
- Prepare and maintain bartender/operator files.
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a minimum five (5) years of experience in office work, and possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License. Preference will be given to candidates who have business, public administration or supervisory training or experience and a Municipal Clerk Certification or experience.
