SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Scope of Responsibility

The coordinator of clinic operations is responsible for the operations of the dental clinic floor and supports the faculty, dental students, and program needs to ensure quality patient care and maintenance of a safe, orderly and secure environment. Monitors and maintains all equipment, supplies, inventory, sterilization center, and provides chair side assistance to dentists as needed. This is an exempt position reporting to the program Associate Dean

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Coordinate the operations of the dental clinic consistent with the needs of the instructional program.

• Ensure proper utilization of equipment and supplies, implementation of approved procedures, and maintain inventory, order supplies, and equipment repair, perform chair-side assistance when needed.

• Maintain safety and infection control records and provide instructional assistance to faculty and students

• Coordinate the clinic to ensure clinic operations comply with all proper safety and infection control standards; maintain currency on WISHA and CDC standards for blood-borne pathogens, and SDS controls for safe handling and disposing of all materials and supplies used in clinic /laboratory .

• Ensure clinic equipment is operational and regularly maintained ; perform minor repairs on equipment; arrange for repairs.

• Coordinate the procurement of all supplies, equipment , and services and quality products at minimum cost and assures that procurement laws, rules, and regulations are observed ; re search and recommend product s, vendors, and cooperative purchasing arrangements as appropriate .

• Coordinate and maintain an up-to-date inventory of clinical/ dispensary /lab supplies and equipment; maintain an orderly and secure clinical /lab /dispensary. Maintain supply inventory using spreadsheets like excel, smartsheets etc. Real time tracking of inventory through using excel/smartsheets.

• Provide, demonstrate, and ensure proper sterilization of dental equipment and usage of other dental equipment.

• Dispense clinical /lab equipment to students , demonstrate procedures for correct use and ensure return and proper maintenance ; implement procedures and standards of performance to ensure a safe and well-run clinic.

• Assist in supervising and evaluating, laboratory and clini cal experiences .

• Perform dental assisting and set up duties when needed.

• Advise and inform college staff on clinic operations; identify potential problem areas and make appropriate recommendations ; prepare and supervise the preparation of reports for internal and external sources.

• Represent the college at professional and community organizations; participate in college system professional conferences and in-service activities.

• Provide assistance during WREB examinations

• Assist the associate dean and other college administrators as necessary; assume and effectively discharge other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school graduate or equivalent

• RDA with minimum two-year dental chair side experience in expanded functions dental assisting procedures

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) strongly preferred

• Clinic experience in a large clinic environment preferred

• Proficient in basic office equipment skills and Microsoft Office 365

Compensation & Work Schedule

Monthly salary is $4,655. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position. Hours are generally 7:30am – 4:30pm with flexibility based on the quarter.
