Job Description

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Controls Engineer within our GSG/Machinery team to help support our Adjustable Bed Unit business. So, what will you be doing as a Controls Engineer?


  • Collaboratively design, test, and, troubleshoot new components for new and existing machines
  • Work cross-functionally amongst all Leggett brands (bedding, furniture, automotive, etc..)
  • Design electrical circuits and build prototypes to prove concepts
  • Program various PLC;s (i.e. Phoenix, IDEC, A-B, Mitsubishi, etc.),
  • Program in IEC 61131


To be successful in this role, you’ll need:


  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting servo systems, electro-mechanical systems, and test engineering
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical departments
  • Self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally, and communicate and interact effectively with customers and suppliers
  • 2-3 years of Electrical Engineering experience
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally, and communicate and interact effectively with customers and suppliers


Things we consider a plus:


  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) preferred
