Established as a community non-profit in 1972, The Center provides targeted programs and services to the full diversity of the San Diego LGBTQ community. The mission of The Center is to enhance and sustain the health and well-being of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, transgender, nonbinary, immigrant, and HIV communities for the betterment of our entire San Diego region. The Center currently has over 75 staff working at five facilities across San Diego County.

 

As of 04/01/2023, the Center has relaxed its COVID-19 vaccination requirement for employment. New employees are encouraged but not required to be vaccinated. The Centre reserves the right to amend this requirement based on health concerns and/or governmental recommendations to protect the well-being of our community. POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Clinical Quality Management Manager, the CQM Data Analyst provides clinical quality management support to contracted providers of Ryan White-funded HIV services, to the HIV, STD, and Hepatitis Branch’s (HSHB) Ryan White program, to the HIV Planning Group, and to the HIV Clinical Quality Management Committee. This position is also responsible for assisting with special projects as assigned by the Clinical Quality Management Manager.

 

PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintenance and Support for Program-Related Data Reporting Systems
    • Ensure the completeness of HIV program data to be used in reporting, analysis, planning, evaluation, and clinical quality management.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain XML export schemas for each contract requiring exporting and importing functionality.
    • Import services and personal health information into data reporting systems, including ARIES, to support Ryan White service providers.
  • Training and Technical Assistance to Assist Service Providers
    • Provide technical assistance and training related to the AIDS Regional Information and Evaluation System (ARIES).
    • Provide written status updates regarding timeliness, completeness, and conformance of provider export files and provider technical assistance and training requests.
    • Act as a liaison between the County of San Diego and the ARIES Support Team at the California Department of Public Health.
    • Assist with the installation of electronic certificates for ARIES users and manage user account access.
  • Provide Data Analysis and Report Development
    • Ensure the completeness of program data to be used in reporting, analysis, planning, evaluation, and clinical quality management.
    • Coordinate data reporting from ARIES to support contractors, including data required to develop and submit monthly progress reports.
    • Provide data analysis to support HSHB activities, state and federal reporting requirements, grant applications, and requests of the HIV Planning Group.
    • Coordinate the annual Ryan White Services Report with HSHB, including identifying missing/incomplete data and resolving discrepancies with contracted HIV service providers.
    • Complete routine and non-routine reports as requested by HSHB to support planning, reporting, and evaluation of HIV services.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education/Experience: A minimum of four years’ experience related to database management, data support, analysis, or training and technical assistance; or a certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree with transferable skills. Must have demonstrated ability to analyze, organize, and interpret data.
  • Professional Skills: Exceptional critical thinking and analysis skills; ability to interact with various types of populations; strong organizational and planning skills; excellent interpersonal communication skills; ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities, attentive and amiable customer service skills; and ability to track and report on goals.
  • Personal Skills: Detail-oriented; inquisitive; self-motivated; teachable; collaborative; amicable and personable; familiarity with the LGBTQ+ communities and the work of The Center.
  • Technology Skills: Must be comfortable working in PC/Windows-based environments. Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel. Familiarity with Excel functions, including but not limited to, V-lookups, Pivot Tables, and Power Query.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education/Experience: Experience conducting database and quality management activities in a health care setting preferred. Knowledge of current HIV service providers and HIV prevention programs in San Diego is preferred.
  • Technology Skills: Familiarity with Tableau and Power BI is also preferred, but not required.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Compensation: The pay range for this position is $27.85 – $30.00 an hour and is commensurate with experience. This is a Full-Time Regular Non-Exempt position.
