Part-Time Caretaker
Job Description
Job Description: Caretaker for disabled non-binary individual through IHSS (In-Home Supportive Services). You will be expected to be respectful and professional while aiding in cleaning, shopping, and doing minor medical tasks. Ideally you must have excellent communication skills and be able to follow instructions on tasks to help.
Job Responsibilities and Skills:
>The ability to respectfully respond when told something was harmful, transphobic, or ableist AKA communication and interpersonal skills
>Willingness to adhere to COVID health and safety standards
>Heavy lifting and strength for grocery shopping and cleaning, car required
>Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention and respect to dietary constraints
>Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid (CPR) or willing to do training
>Assist with personal care and hygiene
>Assist with minor medical tasks
Work Hours and Benefits:
About 3-4 hours a day M-F in the morning, $16 an hour. Flexibility for potential of increased hours appreciated and for a changing schedule due to doctors appointments
Education and Experience:
>Minimum 1+ year(s) professional and/or personal experience supporting chronically ill and disabled people
>Must have a valid in-state driver’s license, provide current registration and insurance
>Must be over 18 years old
You will be doing tasks to support a disabled non-binary person have a clean and healthy environment. You are expected to be respectful and professional in general and when you are informed you have done something harmful. Just be respectful of the space and understanding of needs.
