Job Description
The Business Banking Portfolio Analyst I will be assisting in the management of the Managed By Exception Portfolio (MBE). The position will also assist with the credit servicing component of the customer relationships for the Portfolio Development Officer, focusing on credit relationships greater than $100,000 up to $500,000 C&I as well as up to $750,000 ICRE. In addition to assisting with the managing of the portfolio the Business Banking Portfolio Analyst will assist the Product Team with vendor management, project management and managing and driving the Scored Lending portfolio for the bank.
The position requires critical thinking and high-level management skills adhering to the goals and objectives of Eastern Bank. Independent thinking to analyze and resolve customer issues and gather customer feedback to ensure we are thinking about the proper customer requirements and help satisfy them. The incumbent evaluates circumstances and make autonomous decisions that take the Bank, Department, individual, and customer impacts into account, while helping manage risk for all parties involved. This person must have a high level of expertise regarding risk analysis, corporate compliance and a high degree of expertise in Business Banking Sales, Product, and Operations. This position also requires strategic thinking around maximizing customer satisfaction, revenue production and partnership routines.
Responsibilities include but are limited to:
- Assist with the monitoring and managing the scored portfolio, including a review of Trigger and Loan portfolio Reports; manage the renewal/modification process for the existing portfolio – target segment is credit relationships $100,000 or less.
- Assist in the managing the credit servicing component of the Business Banking relationships assigned to the Portfolio Development Officers; Target segment for this population of customers are credit relationships greater than $100,000 up to $500,000 C&I as well as up to $750,000 ICRE. The Portfolio Development Officers are the primary point of contact for the customers, but this position will assist with the credit servicing component of the relationship.
- Assist & lead projects related to the Business Banking products and services. Assist with vendor management (new & existing) for Business Banking.
- Assist & lead the driving of Scored Loan production for Retail & Business Banking. This would include analysis, training, monitoring and vendor management.
Education and Experience
- 3-5 years banking experience
- College degree or equivalent combination of training and business experience required
- Relevant experience in small business /scored loan portfolio management or equivalent
Skills/Knowledge
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge of business lending and scored lending
- Understanding of business loan structure and loan documentation concepts
- Able to grasp and understand C&I and CRE concepts and structures
- Work independently with limited supervision
