Position: Building Attendant
Salary: $15.53 to $18.11 hourly
POSITION SUMMARY
Step out from the mundane and into a role where every evening feels like an open park invitation. As our Building Attendant at the Senior Center, you’ll bring a breath of fresh air to after-hours operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duties will take you along these trails:
Park Gatekeeper
- Serve as a vigilant overseer of our entry paths, ensuring only rental participants cross through the metaphorical park gates (Senior Center Building).
- Build and maintain harmonious relations with all visitors, as they enjoy the open space of scheduled rentals.
Facilities Ranger
- Navigate the opening and closing rituals, allowing access to our serene spots with the use of building keys and automated entries.
- Seasonally maintain the landscape by shoveling snowfall and tending to light custodial tasks, to keep pathways clear and inviting.
Safety Trailblazer
- Carry out department procedures and logging records, playing a key role in maintaining organized operations.
- Dispatch aid and sound the alert on maintenance issues, ensuring the safety and integrity of the park experience.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and Experience:
- A foundational educational level equal to a general park orientation (high school diploma).
- Experience in any equivalent of maintaining grounds or rallying community spirit preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understand and interpret all communal signage (instructions) and follow the park map (directions).
- Uphold safety measures, planting seeds of trust and security.
- Radiate a visitor-friendly demeanor, providing exemplary service with a can-do spirit.
TOOLS AND GEAR
You’ll have modern communication and administrative tools: personal computer, printers, and communication devices via the MS Office Suite.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
Channel your inner Garden Guardian Hauler strength with the ability to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 40 lbs. You’ll also be on your feet frequently—just like a walk in the park!
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While you venture the Senior Center you might hear tranquil whispers to roaring streams (light conversations to lively music during classes). While mostly indoors, step outdoors to brave elements like snow, a known fixture of Wisconsin’s bracing seasons.
