JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION As a Cloud Solution Developer/Architect, you will join a dedicated team who is responsible for creating and driving the technical strategy of a premier Black Knight public cloud based set of applicatio ns. You will partner with business, product, and self-managed agile teams to craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud (private and public) architectures that provide durable solutions to business problems. You will help guide the design and delivery (hands on) of complex integrations involving UI, backend API, AWS, and onPrem components. You will accelerate and influence the adoption of modern technologies to reduce cost of ownership and the speed and accuracy of delivery to solidify and extend Black Knight’s competitive advantage. You will collaborate with product, business, and agile team members to deliver value across all products. GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Determines specifications, plans, designs, and develops moderately complex software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes and the Agile SAFe framework – either individually or in concert with project team.
- Architect and develop systems designed to run natively in and across public cloud providers and onPrem solutions.
- Uses a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications addressing business needs.
- Develops microservice applications and custom integration solutions, generally for one business segment; solutions include enhancements and interfaces, functions, and features.
- Provides solid knowledge and skill regarding the integration of applications across the business segment.
- Works directly with AWS and Container services, technologies, and teams.
- Provides design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy.
- Recommends programming, development standards, procedures, and programming architectures for code reuse.
- Understands and consistently applies the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies.
- Ensures Black Knight technology vision and direction is observed in existing and proposed architectures.
- Researches and acquires knowledge in emerging technologies and apply knowledge to proposed business solutions.
- Uses Java object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing, and debugging.
- Will assist in resolving support problems as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. AWS Professional Certifications a plus (Cloud Practitioner, Associate Solution Architect, etc) SAFe Agilist (SA), SAFe Practitioner (SP) or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) certifications a plus GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - Experience working with AWS Technologies, such as EC2, s3, RDS, Lambda, EMR, etc.
- Experience with Big Data Technologies such as Spark or Hadoop
- Experience with Java
- Experience with Python a plus
- Experience with source code management tools such as TFS, Git, Gradle or Maven
- Familiarity with relational database technologies such as MS SQL, Oracle, Aurora, MySQL, or others
- Proficiency with source code management including CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines leveraging model driven design-based tools and techniques including conceptual solution component models, business process models, use cases, etc.

- Experience with RHEL
- Familiarity with strangler approaches to decompose monolith-based applications
- Experience in delivering solutions utilizing microservices based architectures
- Experience building applications designed to run natively within and across public cloud providers
- Experience integrating public cloud applications and services with on premise systems
Familiarity with tools and concepts such as jUnit and Gherkin/Cucumber - Understanding of TDD (Test Driven Development) and BDD (Behavioral Driven Development)
- Familiarity with contemporary cloud native architectures, taking advantage of autonomous services and other unique cloud capabilities, such as serverless compute
- Understanding and experience with a container-based technology such as docker
- Experience with Sagemaker
- Familiarity with nonrelational database technologies such as DynamoDB, Mongo, or Redis
- Knowledge of financial services or mortgage industry
Applications Architect IV Expert professional role. Works independently on many information technology projects frequently as a project leader and subject matter expert. Works on large, complex architecture issues or projects that require increased skill in multiple IT functional areas. Requires extensive knowledge of architecture issues, techniques and implications across all existing computer platforms. May manage or serve as a project leader for information technology projects or the applications architecture components of projects. Must have extensive knowledge of applications architecture. May coach more junior staff. Typically requires twelve (12) or more years of experience in information technology with at least eight (8) years of experience working in applications architecture.
