Job Description
We are looking for a talented Automation Software Technical Specialist to join our team specializing in Electrolyzers for our #NewPower Business Unit in Mississauga, Ontario.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
* Provide Automation Engineering services specifically Electrolyzers based on the Siemens Simatic platform for complex Process and Mechanical systems required for our targeted industries.
* Interface with Installation & Commissioning, Process, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineers/designers, construction supervisors, and vendors.
* Implement established developed control scheme based on client requirements.
* Perform necessary duties for commissioning network communications to processors and periphery devices.
* Perform duties to establish functional and stress testing of developed code.
* Identify failure modes and corrective actions for reliability and recovery modes.
* Perform point to point checks along with documentation for process tracking and improvements.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
* Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical/ Software/ Electrical/ Mechatronics or related field) required.
* Minimum five years of experience involving software development and testing for process controls and related automation applications required using Siemens Simatic Automation Technology.
* Experience with the following:
+ Developing user Requirement Specifications, Functional Specifications, Sequence of Operations
+ Developing the automation design from P&ID’s, URS’s, FS’s
+ Developing/designing Control Systems.
+ Process and/or Facility Systems (Simatic PCS 7)
* Commissioning and startup control system in field required.
* Industrial Automation Systems solutions with experience in: Simatic TIA Portal Engineering environment, SCADA (WinCC Professional) and Ethernet, Field HMI (WinCC Basic and Advanced), Profibus and ProfiNet, Step 7 Classic.
