The Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) is an Executive Agency of the Ministry of Defence responsible for the procurement, in service support and disposal of the UK’s nuclear submarines. Job description
SDA are working with two commercial partners, forming the Dreadnought Alliance. This alliance is bringing together the collective capabilities of the SDA, BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce to ensure the Dreadnought Programme delivers four submarines, at an estimated whole life cost of £31 billion, with the first one ready for patrol in the early 2030s.

We have an exciting opportunity to begin a career in the Dreadnought Supply & Support Team (DSST) as an entry level Supply Chain Manager (SCM). If you have a strong interest or work experience in Logistics Governance / Policy, Project Management or Complex Projects, then this could be the ideal opportunity for you.
This entry level Supply Chain Manager role carries both responsibility and opportunity as you will be accountable for providing support to a critical build programme.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to develop skills in roles primarily engaged in transactional activities, working under supervision in a fast paced environment.
You will ensure that a high-quality service is delivered, and this will be demonstrated through your ability to collaborate with others to deliver a positive outcome. Having a good eye for detail and dealing with the management of data will play a vital part in these posts.
DSST is responsible for delivering Government Furnished Assets (GFA), including equipment, information and resources, into the Dreadnought Design and Build Programme, and for managing the transition of Dreadnought into the Royal Navy. This includes establishing the through life support solution, ensuring training provision for Dreadnought’s maintainers and crew and establishing both the physical and information infrastructure to support Dreadnought in-service.
DSST is a 90-strong team based in Abbey Wood with outstations in Barrow, Connecticut and Washington D.C. and close working relationship with other parts of the SDA and wider MOD, the Dreadnought Alliance, US Government and UK and US industry.
The GFA Asset Management Team is responsible for the receipt and handover of GFA to the Dreadnought Programme and, being the DSST in yard presence, is the onsite presence for logistics collaboration and delivery issue resolution. The team is also accountable for all MOD supplied equipment verification activities prescribed by the wider MoD organisation.
Responsibilities
Key activities will include:
• Interface with project stakeholders to understand delivery forecasting.
• Varying involvement in GFA activities relating to receipt, inventory verification and disposal with oversight of storage & maintenance activities.
• Process deliveries in a timely and accurate manner.
• Update and maintain item data records accurately to ensure process compliance and operational efficiency.
• Monitor delivery performance and track any outstanding issues until resolved.
• Support development of management information.
• Work with the team to implement strategy and processes associated with the Asset Management of GFA.
• Comply with appropriate policy and safety requirements at all times.
• Collaboration and interaction with multiple key stakeholders across the Dreadnought Programme.
• Escalate any complex issues to senior colleagues and suggest areas for improvement where necessary.
What you will be assessed against
To be successful with your application you must demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:
• Educated to A Level standard or equivalent (i.e. ONC or BTEC Level 3) or have Supply Chain work experience
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
• Good customer focus and stakeholder engagement experience
• Demonstrable communication skills, both verbal and written

• A background of working within Supply Chain Management
• Experience of using a stock / purchasing system
