DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for a talented Reliability and Life Cycle Cost Lead Engineer – Fuel Cell Rail Products to join our team specializing in hydrogen fuel cell power systems technology for our #NewPower Business Unit in Mississauga, Ontario.

 

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

* Work with cross-functional design teams to understand rail-based systems requirements in terms of reliability, availability, maintainability, serviceability, and cost.

* Integrate component-level data to calculate system reliability, including fault-tree analyses, based on field data, supplier information, reliability handbooks, and other data sources.

* Prepare system RAMS studies (Reliability, Avaliability, Mantainability, and Serviceability)

* Develop preventive and corrective maintenance schedules describing system lifecycle maintenance requirements.

* Prepare fuel cell systems lifecycle cost estimates, analyses, and projections by understanding real-world system design and operation.

* Prepare spare parts cost estimates.

* Perform and facilitate FMEA / FMECA and HAZOP analyses.

* Interface with engineering, procurement, project management and operations team members and key equipment suppliers to gather supporting information and present outputs.

* Serve as the key customer interface with regards to RAMS and LCC (life cycle costs).

* Mentor and supervise other engineers as required.

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

* Bachelor’s in Engineering, Master’s degree preferred.

* Experience working with and manipulating reliability and safety data for complex systems composed of multiple subsystems (electronic, mechanical, thermodynamic, and hydrogen subsystems).

* System design experience highly desirable.

* Strong asset experience with:

+ Railway safety standards is an asset (EN 45545-2, EN 50126, IEC 62278, EN 50128).

+ Fuel cell safety certification standards (IEC 60079-10-1).

+ Railway reliability standards.
