CHELCO, a not-for-profit electric cooperative, seeks an Operations Support Specialist to support the Operations team.
As an Operations Support Specialist:
- You would be a liaison between internal and external customers. You would assist with new construction and act as a liaison between our Operations and Engineering Departments and county inspectors. You would provide information to members and other departments as needed.
- This position is also responsible for managing paper and electronic filing systems, recording information, updating paperwork, and maintaining records: such as county inspections, apprentice files, training records, and safety records.
- You would provide administrative support to the Manager of Operations, Operations Supervisors, and the Safety Officer.
- You would also support the Work Order Coordinator with tasks and projects.
- This position contacts members, county agencies, and vendors as requested.
Minimum Requirements: A High School diploma or equivalent and at least two years related experience. The following knowledge and skills are also required:
- Effective working knowledge of administrative, clerical, and organizational skills, including word processing, managing files and records, and general office procedures. Must be flexible to accomplish the needs of the department.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including word and excel programs.
- Communicate in a positive manner with tact, professionalism, and respect in the following formats: telephone, written form, and in-person.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to multi-task.
- Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Should have strength in detail orientation, timeliness, accuracy, and thoroughness.
- Strength in analyzing and problem resolution, preferred.
- Knowledge of county building permits and inspection requirements, preferred.
- Public notary, preferred.
The normal workweek is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with a one hour lunch, at the CHELCO Operations building in DeFuniak Springs. With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance at a designated worksite location is considered essential.
