Job description
As a Health and Safety (H&S) professional, you will be required to act on behalf of the Head of Establishment (HoE) as OHSE Advisor at Defence Munitions (DM) Beith, North Ayrshire KA15 1JT
The workforce at DM Beith is engaged in a wide range of tasks relating to explosive storage and the processing of ammunition; an understanding of working in this type of environment would be an advantage.
Responsibility to manage the Duty Officer roster.
Responsibilities
To succeed in this assignment, you will need to:
• Support the delivery of OHSE effective management to support activity to ensure that the HoE meets his statutory compliance commitments whilst championing continuous improvement.
• Promote a single way of working to underpin the cohesive and coherent delivery of H&S management across the site.
• Ensure effective and compliant processes and procedures are integrated in daily business.
• Embed good behaviours and initiate activity to enhance the culture across all areas of health, safety and environmental protection.
• Conduct checks, support assurance reviews and deliver monitoring guidance.
• Deliver continuous improvement against corporate performance indicators.
What you will be assessed against
To be found successful you must demonstrate the following essential criteria:
• A relevant H&S qualification, such as a NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
• Relevant experience in a similar complex working environment
In addition to key OHSE management principles, a demonstrable competency in the following areas:desirable criteria:
• Transport Management
• Major Incident Planning
• Fire Safety
• COSHH
• Explosive Safety
