About the company

Florent Labs, LLC is a licensed Massachusetts Marijuana Microbusiness engaged in cannabis product manufacturing at Uxbridge, MA 01569. The Company produces marijuana concentrates and extracts, distillate, vaporizer products and infused pre-rolls. Florent Labs holds final licensure from the Cannabis Control Commission and is completing pre-operational build-out. Anticipated start date for all roles is upon the Company’s receipt of authorization from the Commission to commence operations.

1. Reports to and supervises

Reports to Executive Management. Supervises all employees, including the Lab Assistant, Production Manager and Production Assistant.

2. Role summary

The Lab Director is the Responsible Person in Charge and oversees all aspects of cannabis extraction, processing and manufacturing operations at Florent Labs. This role is responsible for ensuring all processes comply with the regulations of the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission at 935 CMR 500.000, with OSHA standards, and with internal standard operating procedures. The Lab Director ensures the safety, quality and efficiency of all manufactured cannabis products.

3. Core responsibilities

· Direct and manage all manufacturing operations, including C1D1 hydrocarbon extraction, wiped-film distillation, ethanol post-processing, vape formulation and pre-roll production.

· Develop, implement and maintain all standard operating procedures for production, safety and compliance.

· Ensure all products meet quality standards and are produced in a safe and compliant manner.

· Manage inventory of all raw materials, in-process materials and finished goods.

· Lead and mentor the laboratory and production teams, fostering a culture of safety and compliance.

4. Regulatory and compliance responsibilities

· Serve as the primary point of contact for the Commission and other regulatory agencies.

· Ensure all operations and documentation are inspection-ready at all times.

· Oversee all compliance reporting, including incident reports and corrective and preventive actions.

· As Responsible Person in Charge, hold ultimate responsibility for all cannabis and cannabis-infused products from seed to sale.

5. Seed-to-sale system and inventory authority

· Authorized to perform all functions within Metrc, including creating and managing strains, items, packages, transfers and waste.

· Solely authorized to approve batch releases for finished products.

· Authorized, along with the Alternate Responsible Person in Charge, to update Metrc, receive transfers and authorize waste destruction.

6. Limited Access Area and chain-of-custody authority

· Unescorted access to all Limited Access Areas, including the vault and the C1D1 extraction room.

· Responsible for maintaining and enforcing all access control policies and procedures.

· Authorized to escort visitors and contractors within all Limited Access Areas.

7. Safety and training requirements

· Must hold current certifications in OSHA 30, Hazardous Materials and C1D1 extraction safety.

· Responsible for developing and implementing all safety training programs for employees.

· Ensure all employees are trained on and properly use all required personal protective equipment.

8. Minimum qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science field.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in a cannabis manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

· Proven experience with hydrocarbon extraction, distillation and vape formulation.

· OSHA 30, Hazardous Materials and C1D1 safety certifications.

9. Background screening and conduct

· Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check, including a CORI report, as 935 CMR 500.030(2) and 500.802 require.

· Must maintain a high level of professionalism and adhere to all Company policies and procedures.

· Any involvement in the diversion of cannabis products will result in immediate termination, and will be reported to Law Enforcement Authorities and the Commission as 935 CMR 500.105(1)(m) requires.

10. Performance indicators

· Zero compliance infractions or regulatory violations.

· Maintain a workplace safety record with zero lost-time incidents.

· Achieve production targets and efficiency goals.

· Ensure all product batches meet quality specifications.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records.

· Timely completion of all required compliance reporting.

· Successful completion of all internal and external audits.

· Positive team morale and employee retention.
