About the company
Florent Labs, LLC is a licensed Massachusetts Marijuana Microbusiness engaged in cannabis product manufacturing at Uxbridge, MA 01569. The Company produces marijuana concentrates and extracts, distillate, vaporizer products and infused pre-rolls. Florent Labs holds final licensure from the Cannabis Control Commission and is completing pre-operational build-out. Anticipated start date for all roles is upon the Company’s receipt of authorization from the Commission to commence operations.
1. Reports to and supervises
Reports to Executive Management. Does not supervise any employees, and holds independent authority to halt any operation presenting a compliance or safety risk.
2. Role summary
The Compliance Officer serves as the Alternate Responsible Person in Charge and is responsible for the Company’s compliance program. This position exercises all compliance functions of the Responsible Person in Charge in that officer’s absence, and holds the system and facility access necessary to do so. The position is currently held by a Member of the Company and is not open for recruitment.
3. Core responsibilities
· Act as Responsible Person in Charge whenever the Lab Director is absent from the premises.
· Maintain the Company’s written operating procedures and the record of all versions, adoption dates and revisions.
· Conduct the documented facility compliance and safety inspection at intervals not exceeding 30 days.
· Maintain personnel records, training records and the records required by 935 CMR 500.105(9).
· Administer agent registration, renewal and termination notifications to the Commission.
4. Regulatory and compliance responsibilities
· Deliver any notice, order, subpoena or inspection request received from the Commission or any governmental authority to the Chief Executive Officer the same day.
· Report incidents to the Commission within 24 hours and file the written incident report within ten calendar days as 935 CMR 500.110(9) requires.
· Notify the Commission of agent separations within one business day, and of changes to submitted information within five business days.
· Coordinate recall execution under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer.
· Maintain the confidentiality plan and the handling of CORI reports in compliance with 803 CMR 2.00.
5. Seed-to-sale system and inventory authority
· Authorized, along with the Lab Director, to update Metrc, receive transfers and authorize waste destruction.
· Authorized to perform inventory reconciliation and to place product on administrative hold.
6. Limited Access Area and chain-of-custody authority
· Unescorted access to all Limited Access Areas, including the vault and the C1D1 extraction room.
· Authorized to escort visitors, contractors, inspectors and Law Enforcement Authorities.
· Custodian of the access control logs and the video surveillance retention schedule.
7. Safety and training requirements
· Must complete all required safety training, including OSHA and Hazardous Materials.
· Maintains the Safety Data Sheet binder and the annual evacuation drill record.
· Authority to suspend any operation presenting an immediate risk to health or safety.
8. Minimum qualifications
· 21 years of age or older; determined suitable under 935 CMR 500.800 and 500.802.
· Demonstrated knowledge of 935 CMR 500.000 and of cannabis seed-to-sale tracking.
· Responsible Vendor Training completed and maintained on the required annual cycle.
· High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant regulatory, compliance or operations experience preferred.
9. Background screening and conduct
· Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check, including a CORI report, as 935 CMR 500.030(2) and 500.802 require.
· Must maintain a high level of professionalism and adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
· Any involvement in the diversion of cannabis products will result in immediate termination, and will be reported to Law Enforcement Authorities and the Commission as 935 CMR 500.105(1)(m) requires.
10. Performance indicators
· Zero missed regulatory reporting deadlines.
· Documented facility inspection completed every 30 days without lapse.
· All agent registrations and renewals current at all times.
· Personnel and training records complete and inspection-ready.
· Zero findings of unremediated non-compliance at any Commission inspection.
