As a Recovery Through Nature and Community Development Worker, you will support people at the North Lanarkshire Community and Family services to reach their goals and change their lives for the better. The role is part-time 18 hours per week. You will be part of a passionate and skilled team, contributing to the provision of tailored interventions and recovery approaches.

Our Recovery Through Nature Workers are community based and work to engage people in a range of practical conservation and horticultural projects to aid their recovery, and wellbeing. This role involves working within the community across the 6 localities of North Lanarkshire, alongside our Recovery Through Nature lead.

You will assist with the delivery of the project and in the further development of our RTN and Community Development service. You will assist with planning and organising Recovery Through Nature activities and events within the local community and encourage people to attend. You will have responsibilities for volunteers and peer mentors with regards to training and supervising. You will also manage a caseload of clients.

Phoenix Futures at North Lanarkshire have an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain experience working in psychosocial treatment for substance use.

Previous experience is desirable, however not essential. Support Workers come from many different backgrounds and experiences, and you may have the skills required. We are seeking dedicated individuals, based on your values, willingness to learn new skills and the compassion to deliver the best service possible to the people that use our services.

About You
To join us as Recovery Through Nature and Community Development Worker, you will need:

Relevant experience of working in health and social care, ideally within the field of problematic substance use, mental health or another comparable field
Evidence of effective partnership working and the ability to network for the benefit of the client and service
Evidence of managing a busy caseload or tasks and excellent organisational skills
To be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Word and be familiar with database management systems
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Determined, with a drive to succeed and a willingness to learn
Passionate and enthusiastic about making a real difference to the lives of people we support

Other organisations may call this role Recovery Worker, Recovery Co-ordinator, Recovery Interventions Worker, Recovery Through Nature Worker.

The Service

Our Recovery Through Nature and Community Development Worker will be community based and work to engage people in a range of practical conservation and horticultural projects to aid their recovery, and wellbeing. This role involves working within the community, across the 6 localities of North Lanarkshire, alongside our Recovery Through Nature lead and across both the North Lanarkshire Building Futures Community Service and the Family service (Both based in Coatbridge).
