Math & AI Evaluation Expert (AI Community) Remote

About the Role:

 

TELUS Digital is seeking a Math & AI Evaluation Expert to support the assessment of AI-generated mathematical content. In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of mathematical outputs produced by AI systems. 

 

As a Math & AI Evaluation Specialist, you will analyze AI-generated responses, verify the correctness of solutions, identify errors or gaps in reasoning, and provide clear, constructive feedback to help enhance model performance. This is a flexible freelance or contract opportunity designed for candidates with academic or professional backgrounds in mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science, or other related quantitative disciplines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Review and evaluate AI‑generated mathematical solutions, explanations, and reasoning.

Verify the correctness of answers across topics such as algebra, calculus, probability, statistics, and applied mathematics.

Identify inaccuracies, logical gaps, or unclear reasoning in AI outputs.

Provide structured feedback to improve clarity, accuracy, and alignment with mathematical standards.

Collaborate with internal teams to refine evaluation guidelines and quality benchmarks.

Maintain consistency and accuracy while working with large volumes of content.

Ensure all evaluations follow established guidelines and project requirements.

 

Qualification path

Mandatory Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative field.

Strong command of core mathematical concepts and problem‑solving techniques.

Ability to evaluate mathematical reasoning with precision and attention to detail.

Excellent written communication skills for providing clear, concise feedback.

Comfort working independently in a remote, deadline‑driven environment.

Familiarity with AI tools or large language models is a plus (not always required).

Demonstrated ability to analyze and verify complex mathematical content.

 

Assessment:

 

In order to be hired into our community, you’ll go through a subject-specific qualification exam that will determine your suitability for the position and complete ID verification.

Payment:

 

Currently, pay rates for experts range from $18 – $50 USD per hour

 

Our Payment terms are defined for each project.
