Under the direction of the Building and Grounds Manager, this position will provide a wide range of custodial operations assistance to ensure outstanding experiences for guests, visitors and staff at Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center (CVEEC).

You will join a team of supportive and passionate Conservancy and National Park Service staff, volunteers, and park visitors at Ohio’s National Park.

- Able to work varying hours up to 30 hours per week, including weekdays, weekends and potentially holidays.
What you’ll do:
- Perform and support custodial and light maintenance related duties for all Conservancy operated facilities and grounds.
- Daily travel to locations throughout the CVNP.
- Set-up and clean-up for school groups and reservations, ensuring that CVEEC grounds and facilities meet American Camp Association (ACA) accreditation compliance requirements.
- Provide reliable transportation of documents, parcels, products, equipment, and supplies.
- Properly and safely use, store, and organize equipment and cleaning supplies and chemicals.
- Coordinate cleaning, scheduling, maintenance, and service on Conservancy vehicles as assigned.
- Maintain firewood stock at applicable locations.
- Collect and dispose of trash and empty cigarette receptacles.
- Maintain safe pathways by clearing debris and providing snow and ice removal.
- Drive Conservancy and government vehicles in accordance with NPS procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Able to pass a criminal record check for the state of Ohio and FBI fingerprint checks.
- Possess reliable transportation, valid Driver’s License, and evidence of insurability.
- Able to work variable assigned hours and weekend shifts to meet event needs.
- Knowledge of and ability to follow accepted safety standards required.
- Willingness and ability to use common cleaning and light maintenance equipment.
- Fluent in English with the ability to speak, read, and write clearly and coherently.
Physical aspects of the role:
- Traverse uneven terrain and elevation changes.
- Exposed to outdoor weather conditions throughout the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
- Climb stairs and ladders to access storage areas in basements and attics.
- Lift and move heavy items such as furniture.
- Exposed to moderate and high noise levels.
- Operate machinery and equipment such as lawn mowers, shovels, and power tools.
- Regular exposure to industrial strength cleaning chemicals.
Status/Pay/Benefits:
- Part-time, non-exempt
- Hourly rate $14.00.
