About the Role:
2026 marks 50 years since the Hankycode, the iconic underground code from 1976 that connected the gay community in secret and celebration. To commemorate this milestone, we’re launching The Hankycode Art Exhibition, and we need a vibrant, outgoing LGBTQ+ ambassador to bring it to life.
You’ll represent the community, amplify the exhibition online, and help tell the story of this pivotal piece of LGBTQ+ history.
What You’ll Do:
- Be the public face of The Hankycode Exhibition, celebrating 50 years of queer history. Launch event Manchester 2026.
- Create engaging content for Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, and other social media.
- Help spread the word on the street and online about the exhibition.
- Collaborate with artists and curators to shape the exhibition’s public voice.
- Engage with the LGBTQ+ community in a creative, authentic, and fun way.
Who You Are:
- Proudly LGBTQ+ identifying and passionate about queer history and culture.
- Confident on camera and in front of an audience.
- Experienced with social media platforms and content creation.
- Outgoing, creative, and ready to represent a historic LGBTQ+ milestone.
- Eager to help a community-focused exhibition thrive.
