McElhanney Technical and Digital Innovation in Engineering & Geomatics Scholarship
In recognition of the outstanding contributions of emerging digital leaders at McElhanney, this scholarship celebrates individuals who are advancing innovation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through technical innovation . It supports our commitment to fostering future-ready talent who demonstrate the vision, creativity, and technical skills to drive digital transformation. The ideal candidate has showcased a recent innovation or achievement that exemplifies the integration of digital solutions—such as automation, emerging technologies, or new digital business models—and is passionate about shaping a STEM career with McElhanney.
Selected recipient who is interested in completing an education program in STEM (see applicable programs below) is awarded up to $5,000 to use towards tuition, textbooks, supplies, and living expenses (on-campus accommodations). In addition to the financial award, you will be offered a paid internship that aligns with your career plans and McElhanney’s hiring needs.
One recipient will be selected for this scholarship award, and we strongly encourage applications from students of all backgrounds, including but not limited to Indigenous Peoples, women, racialized groups, persons with disabilities, members of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, and other equity-deserving groups.

In addition to the scholarship, candidates are encouraged to apply for internship or new graduate opportunities at McElhanney during our regular recruitment cycles (winter, summer, and fall). Step 1: Select Your Career Path
Hands-on career training will be made available through full-time or intern opportunities which are reserved for individuals who have an interest in one or more of the following career paths. In your application, please select your career path of interest (If you are interested in more than one career path, please select the ones most relevant to you):
- Civil Engineering
- Geomatics Engineering
- GIS & Remote Sensing

Step 2: Confirm Your Eligibility
To qualify for this scholarship, please ensure you meet the following criteria:
- You have a passion for innovation or have achieved digital excellence in STEM through:
- Adoption of digital solutions for innovative problem solving
- Technical expertise in automating processes and integrations
- Implementation of digital tools to simplify and optimize operational tasks
- You have displayed academic excellence through capstone or research projects, workshops/competitions, or continued involvement in industry.
- You are enrolled in a diploma or degree program and have completed at least 2 years of post-secondary education at an accredited Canadian institution that is in Civil Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, or GIS/Remote Sensing career paths.
