Responsibilities / Requirements
We’re looking for trustees who are:
– Passionate about safer, athlete-centred sport
– Thoughtful and strategic
– Willing to learn and contribute collaboratively
– Committed to our survivor-led values.
We would like our trustees to be able to attend at least two trustee meetings a year in person. As part of our work, it is important that our Board includes a significant representation of people with lived experience of abuse in sport. You do not need trustee experience – we will provide
support and training.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a movement that is shifting the global landscape of athlete rights. As a trustee, you’ll be joining:
– A bold, survivor-led human rights organisation
– A young but fast-growing charity propelled by an engaged movement of
survivors
– A team backed by significant core funding until 2027 from the Oak Foundation
– A movement making real impact in the UK and building
influence internationally
We are aiming to become a six person Board of Trustees, with a blend of leadership, finance, fundraising, safeguarding, campaigning and sports governance experience.
Location: Hybrid (London-based meetings & online
participation). Meetings are held either in the middle or end of the working day, and for meetings after work hours trustees are encouraged to
attend in person.
Board Meetings: Four board meetings per year
Working Groups: We hope that trustees with specific expertise will directly
contribute to ad hoc working groups shaping the relevant activities of the charity
Time commitment: Approximately 8 hours per month
Term: 3 years, renewable up to 3 terms (max 9 years)
Remuneration: Voluntary role (reasonable expenses reimbursed)
Support: Full induction and trustee training provided
