About the Engineering Team
The Engineering team develops products to address the challenge of accelerating improvements in student outcomes. The team uses emerging technologies to guide users throughout the customer journey. The ideal Data Engineer enjoys learning, is a quality leader, shares knowledge with team members, is proactive and anticipates challenges, provides innovative solutions, and works collaboratively across the company to enable our product-led growth strategy. We are now seeking candidates with a passion for AI to join our team and play a key role in integrating AI functionalities into our product offerings and have a positive impact on education utilizing AI for personalized learning, recommendations, and automated data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the entire process of building high quality and reliable data pipelines, including planning, designing, building, testing, deployment, and post-production support
- Lead the ideation, design, development, and deployment of AI features within the Inno™ application.
- Leverage expertise in AI development platforms to build, train, and integrate machine learning models.
- Clearly communicate and partner with data scientists and product managers to ensure AI features align with product strategy and user needs.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of AI models, making necessary adjustments to optimize results.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in AI and recommend new applications for Innovare products.
- Continuously find opportunities to improve data quality, reliability, and utility
- Build internal processes, develop high quality documentation, and train the team to expand their knowledge and/or hand off processes
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar and proven experience
- 2+ years of Big Data experience (Data Lakes, Data Pipelines, ETL / ELT, and Data Warehouses) using Google Cloud
- Experience with data modeling, access controls, cache, and performance tuning
- Experience with Apache Airflow and BigQuery
- Proficiency in Python, SQL Git, and cloud development tools
- Experience with Agile methodologies and project management
- Experience developing and launching production-ready API micro-services
- Proven experience of analytical and problem solving abilities
- Proven ability to develop and deploy machine learning models
- Working knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques
Preferred Qualifications
- EdTech experience and a passion for using AI in education
- Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer
- Experience with RESTful APIs, webhooks, and OLAP Cubes
- Experience building scalable and performant data solutions
- Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is valued
- Understanding of education data privacy regulations, data governance, data quality frameworks, and data security best practices
- Proficient in English and Spanish
