Full-Time Assistant Director of Athletics, Business Operations, and NCAA Compliance Officer
Job Description
The Assistant Director of Athletics supports the overall operations of Elmira College Intercollegiate Athletics. This position oversees all business operations including budget management, purchasing, procurement, expense reports, and is responsible for enforcement of athletics financial policies and procedures. This position has direct team and staff supervision. The Assistant Director oversees camp and clinic administration to ensure compliance, liability, and sound fiscal practice. serves as the liaison to the Business Department for all financial contracts, lease agreements, insurance policies, and reporting. This position reports to the Director of Athletics, and operates in accordance with NCAA Division III, conference regulations, Elmira College policies, and department standards.
This position is combined with NCAA compliance and will oversee all aspects of the department’s compliance procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee all business operations including budgets, purchasing and procurement, financial compliance, expense reporting, and business policy and procedures for athletics;
- Develop Annual Business Plan for sponsorships, partnerships, and advertising. Keep inventory of available space, records of sponsorships and partnerships;
- Staff and program supervision;
- Enacts and oversees all game/competition contracts;
- Compliance Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred;
- Valid driver’s license;
- 3-5 years’ experience in intercollegiate athletics and business operations or equivalent;
- Direct experience working for a Division III NCAA sponsored institution, preferred;
- NCAA Division III compliance experience, preferred;
- Strong communication skills – both intrapersonal and comfort with public speaking;
- Experience in budget management and administration of budgets above $2M annually;
- Experience building revenue in corporate partnerships, team fundraising and sponsorships.

BASIS OF PAY: Salary, Non-Exempt
