Job Description

Elmira College is a private liberal arts College located in the Finger Lakes region of New York.  Seeking innovative professionals from diverse backgrounds to fill the position of Lecturer in Psychology to join the Social & Behavioral Sciences team.

Elmira College invites applications for a full-time lecturer to teach primarily Introductory Psychology. The candidate will have the opportunity to teach other courses within the candidate’s area of specialization in psychology. Additional expectations include student academic advising and service to the College. This position carries an expected start date of August 26, 2024 or January 13, 2025. The successful candidate or candidates will be appointed for one semester or the full academic year 2024-2025, with the expectation of renewal pending satisfactory performance and departmental need. Annual teaching load is 30 credits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree (18 hours in the specific content area) in psychology from an accredited institution;
  • Demonstrated aptitude for teaching undergraduates.

BASIS OF PAY: Salary, Exempt
