Full-Time Assistant Professor of Social Psychology
Job Description
Elmira College, the first college to offer a comprehensive curriculum for women, and home of the Center for Mark Twain Studies, is a small, well-established, residential, liberal arts college in a pleasant community in the Finger Lakes region of New York State (county population 100,000).
Elmira College invites applications for a tenure-track position in social psychology beginning in the fall of 2024. Responsibilities include teaching courses such as social psychology, industrial organizational psychology, developmental psychology, psychological statistics, and other courses within the candidate’s area of specialization. Candidates with teaching and research interests in areas such as the psychology of gender and/or environmental psychology will be strongly considered. Additional expectations include student academic advising, supervision of student research projects, service to the College, and continued professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- PhD in social psychology, or a PhD in a closely related area of psychology;
- Ability to teach social psychology and psychological statistics, among other courses in their specialty;
- ABD candidates will be considered;
- Applicants must demonstrate an aptitude for teaching undergraduates.

BASIS OF PAY: Salary, Exempt
