This Position:
At CHELCO, we believe in the power of great visuals to tell our story and connect with our community. As a Multimedia Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of our communications team, capturing high-quality photography and video footage that showcases our programs and initiatives. Your work will be featured across various platforms including print, web, social media, and TV.
The Multimedia Specialist will work with the communications team and other Cooperative departments to capture high-quality photography and video footage to help maintain the Cooperative’s brand reputation and perform internal and external audits of cooperative programs and initiatives. Primarily responsible for creating and editing engaging photo and video content. Developing digital media content for multiple platforms. Updating and maintain the digital media library. Enhancing the Cooperative’s public-facing website and social media channels. Collaborating with departments to promote their events and goals. Supporting video and website content needs across the organization. Planning, shooting, editing, and producing consistent video content. Assisting with branding and marketing implementations.
Multimedia Specialist Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED with at least five years’ current experience working with digital media, including video production, web content, and social media or in marketing communications. An associate degree in digital media, video production, or marketing communications and a minimum of three years of directly related and current experience. A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in digital media, video production, marketing communications, or a related field and two years of directly related and current experience.
- Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Audition, After Effects, Photoshop). Strong skills in video/audio equipment usage (cameras, lighting, microphones, backdrops). Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, X, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn). Experience with web design/content management systems. Excellent organizational and communication abilities. Capable of taking and implementing creative feedback. Desired but not required: drone pilot license and flying experience.
- Must have knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media under both routine and crisis conditions. This includes knowledge of website design and maintenance, graphic design software and writing copy; Advertising and media sales including knowledge of advertisement placement, cost negotiations and formatting requirements.
- Must meet criteria to obtain access credentials for the U.S. government installations in the Eglin AFB Utility Privatization contract. Driver’s license preferred.
The position is non-exempt. Our normal office hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with evenings and weekends as needed. Remote work is not an option for this position. Travel within the cooperative territory and occasional travel outside the area are required. The position reports to the Communications and Community Affairs Supervisor.
