Full-Time Surveying Engineering Technician II – HIGHER SALARY!
Job Description
- Operate field survey equipment while performing more complex technical assignments related to highway route location surveys of projects in the field or office.
- Perform complex CADD and computer operations in the surveying and creation of plan sheets and survey data for Transportation Improvement projects including hydraulic surveys, complex horizontal alignments, setting of photogrammetric controls, property condemnations, and Global Positioning System (GPS) field work.
- Use some independent judgment applying standard civil engineering practices and procedures.
- Have your work reviewed by senior technicians/engineers who are a part of an engineering survey group.
- CADD and computer equipment experience in the design of highways (topographic features, hydrographic information, utility locations, property boundaries, elevations etc.), digital terrain model (DTM) files, and preparation of preliminary/final versions of property condemnation maps.
- Experience planning, directing, overseeing, and leading the work of junior technicians in primarily survey field and some office work.
- Field survey equipment experience, i.e. total stations, GNSS receivers.
- Experience developing maps/plans through CADD utilizing CADD software.
- Knowledge of standards, principles, and practices of surveying in North Carolina.
- Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related field, and
- 2+ years relevant technician-level experience; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
