Full-Time Jr. Code Attorney
Job Description
CivicPlus provides SaaS products to help local governments positively engage with their community members. We’re eleven products strong and growing.
The Code Attorney will work closely with other attorneys and editors to keep our clients’ law legally sound and up to date, both in print and online.
Your Impact:
- Supervise all aspects of codifications/recodifications and standalone legal reviews;
- Review legislation to identify conflicts, inconsistencies, and obsolete provisions in connection with the State’s statutes; identify conflicting or obsolete provisions; identify certain potentially unconstitutional provisions; update and add state law references and citations;
- Prepare legal memorandum identifying recommendations and work with clients to implement desired revisions;
- Provide legal support for Supplement Editors;
- Coordinate with Sales department.
Experience & Skills we value:*
- A minimum of two (2) years or more professional experience in the practice of law or legal research, with emphasis on local government law;
- Admission to a State Bar;
- Must be proactive, detail oriented, tech savvy, organized and driven to achieve top-quality work product;
- Ability to multi-task and move from project to project with ease and eye toward accuracy and timeliness;
- Superior interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work well with peers, customers, and all levels of management;
- Strong communication skills (written, oral, and listening);
- Able to function independently and adapt readily to multiple assignments and deadlines;
- Ability to deal with high-volume, rapid cycles, concurrent deadlines, and changing priorities;
- Takes initiative and accepts personal responsibility for work.
- Strong computer literacy (Windows, Word, Outlook)
