Healthworx Studio is a growing non profit organization focused on improving healthcare for all. We incubate, launch and scale sustainable health solutions to address critical problems and empower people to live better lives.

Healthworx Studio is looking for a Director of Operations to help create effective processes with efficiency in mind. You will support Portfolio Operations and will have oversight of Legal, Human Resources, Project Management and Finance, assisting Healthworx Studio in scaling these functions. You will be establishing and improving on the systems and processes already in place and you will be managing external partners: audit, tax, legal, fund administrator, accounting, etc.

This is a critical role to ensure our organization operates with best-in-class teams, departments, processes, partners, and systems, as it builds upon its current successes and continues to grow. You will be a trusted advisor to the team, staying ahead on issues, and providing actionable insights with a data-driven lens to the organization.

This is a great opportunity for a relationship focused operations leader seeking to join and build a great company and culture from the ground up. This is a remote opportunity, with occasional on-site meetings. Candidates within a commutable distance to Washington, DC preferred.

What You Can Expect in this Role:

  • Portfolio Operations Support:
    • Manage the process to onboard companies onto HWX Studio internal systems and work closely with the Managing Partner on formation, funding, term sheets and investment closes.
    • Management of the closing checklists for investments including the wiring and processing of legal documents.
  • Legal, Compliance and People:
    • Work closely with Healthworx Studio external counsel on matters related to fund, studio, and portfolio company entities as well as sourcing and pricing outside support firms when needed.
    • Own the Human Resources department, inclusive of employee onboarding, benefits administration, performance reviews and compensation planning.
  • Project Management:
    • Define and manage the company’s processes with portfolio companies, relationships with financial institutions, accounting practices, management of fiscal records, and preparation of reports.
  • Financial Planning and Execution:
    • Working closely with the Managing Partner, and outsourced partners across Fund Admin/Accounting, Tax/Audit on day to day cash flow management, quarterly and annual reporting, implementing and maintaining the Studio’s chargeback model.

We’d love to meet you if:

  • You have 7+ years of experience within operations, HR, finance or consulting. Ideally, within a high-growth business environment and/or investment firm. Healthcare experience is a huge plus.
  • You have had experience scaling operations with a people-experience first mindset.
  • You enjoy working and building within an early stage startup environment, with a willingness to support multiple verticals.
  • You are naturally curious and are interested in being at the forefront of Healthcare innovation.
  • You strive for excellence within your own work, and have a proven track record of inspiring others around you.
  • You have strong business acumen and an ability to digest and interpret data.
  • You are an advocate for DEIB and conscious of creating an environment that enables inclusion and authenticity.
  • You approach collaboration with trust, mutual respect, and warmth.
  • You possess strong emotional intelligence, with an ability to hire, train, develop, and retain top talent.

What you’ll love about us:

  • The opportunity to build and influence processes not only within Healthworx Studio, but also within our portfolio companies revolutionizing the healthcare industry.
  • Supporting the launch of healthcare solutions that have a high impact on underserved populations.
  • Flexible remote work with monthly in-office gatherings in Washington, DC
  • Medical, Dental & Vision for you and your family with 70% premium coverage
  • 401K Retirement Fund with a 4% Employer Match
  • Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability and AD&D Insurance at no cost to employees
